HELLO! I’m Tiff…

and I serve Burlington’s South End in the state House of Representatives. I moved to Vermont with my partner Liz in 1997 when the legislature was debating civil unions. We wanted to plants roots in a state that would welcome the family we wanted to have and in which we could feel connected to community. Two kids and two decades later,  we have never looked back. Vermont is home because of the friends we have made, the communities to which we feel deeply connected through our work and as volunteers, and the sense of possibility that nurtures political, social, and economic innovation.

Thank you, South End Voters!

The votes from Chittenden-13 are in.  I not only welcomed the news of being re-elected, but am buoyed by fact that local and national elections have affirmed that democracy is very much still alive – boosted, in part, by a surge in younger voters.

I am excited to be going back to Montpelier and grateful for those who trusted us to represent them for another two years. It is an incredible privilege to serve this district, made all the more interesting and easier because South Enders are so talented and engaged. THANK YOU!!

I am similarly grateful to those who voted to support the High School bond. The wide margin by which it passed offers a strong statement about who and what we value in our community – and our ability to take the long view.

The session will begin January 4th and extend until mid-May. I will continue to prioritize access to housing and effective drug treatment, helping working families by investing in child care and paid family leave, addressing climate change by advocating for policies that help Vermonters save energy and money, securing funds to reduce the costs for the new High School, and proactively working to develop Vermont’s businesses and trades so that we may all benefit from economic growth.
